This is an English translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Japanese version governs.
This Policy describes how information is handled in the web tools "Date Poll" and "Poll" provided by Hoot Hall LLC (the "Company"). The Minerva MEET mobile app has its ownseparate Privacy Policy.
1. No accounts are created
The tools require no registration or login, and no account is created.
2. Information we collect
- Entered by the page creator: title, note, candidate dates / options
- Entered by voters: a display name (nicknames welcome) and an answer (yes / if-needed / no) per option
- Collected automatically: a browser identifier used to let a voter revise their own answer (stored on the device), an IP address for abuse prevention (stored hashed for at most 2 hours), and page view / answer counts
3. How we use it
- To provide the tools — rendering pages and tallying answers
- To prevent spam and abuse (rate limiting)
- For service improvement, using aggregate, non-identifying statistics
4. No sale, no ad use, no third-party sharing
The Company does not sell information collected through the tools, and does not use poll data for advertising targeting. It is not shared with third parties except where required by law.
5. Retention
- Pages and answers: auto-deleted 60 days after creation (deletable anytime via the admin URL)
- Hashed IP addresses for rate limiting: at most 2 hours
6. Who can see the answers
Anyone holding the page URL can see the page's title, options, voter display names, and answers. Voters choose what name to display. Please manage who the URL is shared with.
7. Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Page URLs and admin URLs use long, unguessable random strings.
8. Changes to this Policy
Changes will be announced on this page.
9. Contact
Questions about this Policy may be sent via the Company's contact form.
